The temple of Zeus Lepsynos is considered one of the six best preserved temples in Turkey, although its decorations are apparently not quite finished. Of the original 32 Corinthian columns, half are still upright and support parts of the building. Inscriptions remind of the founders and the stonemasons from the former Zeus sanctuary Labraunda have set their mark several times with the double axe (Labrys). |
